Vijay Salgaonkar keeps getting away with it, and audiences keep paying to watch him try.
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion opened on 2 October and did something Hindi films have struggled to do all year: it grew over its weekend instead of fading.
The numbers so far
Figures from trade tracker Sacnilk, as reported by Gulf News and Sacnilk itself:
- Sunday (day 3): ₹61 crore net, up 14% on Saturday's ₹53.5 crore
- Opening weekend: ₹176.5 crore India net, the year's second-highest for a Hindi film
- Worldwide after three days: ₹272.8 crore gross, including ₹61 crore overseas
- Monday (day 4): ₹21 crore, Ajay Devgn's biggest first Monday, ahead of Singham Again
- Four-day India net: ₹197.5 crore
Sunday evening shows ran at about 80% occupancy. That's the number distributors care about: it means the crowd was buying on word of mouth, not only on opening-day loyalty.
What it is
Abhishek Pathak directs. Tabu and Shriya Saran return, and Jaideep Ahlawat joins as SP Rajveer Singh Tomar, the latest officer convinced he can finally crack the Salgaonkar family. The film is billed as the last chapter of the Hindi series.
The other Drishyam 3
In case your family WhatsApp group is confused: Mohanlal's Malayalam Drishyam 3, the original franchise's third film, released on 21 May. It closed an extended first week at about ₹197 crore gross worldwide, per Pinkvilla, the second-biggest opening week ever for a Malayalam film. Two Drishyam 3s in one year, both hits. Georgekutty and Vijay Salgaonkar should start a support group.
Why it matters
The first half of 2026 was thin for Bollywood, with only a handful of clear hits. A franchise finale nearing ₹200 crore net in four days gives exhibitors a strong run into the festive season.
