Lula wins a fourth term, and the man he beat is now in Miami

Brazil's 81-year-old president came from behind to win the runoff. Two days later, Flávio Bolsonaro left the country despite a court order. Here's the full picture.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won Brazil's 25 October runoff with about 51.8% of the vote, coming from behind after Flávio Bolsonaro led the first round. Bolsonaro refused to accept the result, and a day later a Supreme Court justice ordered him to surrender his passports. He instead left through Argentina and Ecuador and reached Miami on 28 October. Lula begins his fourth term on 5 January 2027.
